What you’ll be doing:

Staples is looking for an experienced security professional to lead a team of engineers within the Threat & Vulnerability Management team. This role will support efforts that include but are not limited to ongoing planning, implementation, and operations of Vulnerability Management, File Integrity Monitoring, Database Activity Monitoring and Deception. This individual manages the work of a strategically important team accountable for design, definition and implementation of technical security programs to protect the integrity of the organization’s networks, systems, applications and data.  Manages complex operations including security process administration, vulnerability management, security scanning and monitoring, automated solution and compliance reporting. Manages the design and implementation of content, information and identity security policies and processes to protect the network, systems and data. Stays current on evolving security and legislative / regulatory changes related to security. Accountable for the management of the vulnerability management team and operations. Allocates available resources to meet operating objectives. Interacts with direct reports and peers in management / customers / vendors to share information and improve cross-departmental processes. Establishes and manages relationships with third party security auditors and solutions providers. Ensures the ongoing training and development of direct reports.

What you bring to the table:

Ability to manage and mentor a team of vulnerability management engineers and responsible for training, development and performance management
Collaborate with compliance and other teams to remediate vulnerabilities
Provide input for budget to meet securities needs for vulnerability management.
Support for innovation and move forward strategy around vulnerability management automation/growth
Partner with upper management on strategy and provide ways to meet those strategies as well as escalate issues when appropriate
Identify, document and update security systems and processes for VM Engineering tools
Strong leadership skills – effectively manage, motivate and coach/mentor team and high potentials
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and ability to provide clear and concise direction
Maintain day-to-day operations of systems supporting VM Engineering
Strong partnership with the Security Operations Center and SOC Engineering teams

Qualifications – External
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications

A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, or related field
7+ years of overall technical experience
5+ years of Security experience
Qualys Vulnerability Management Solution required
What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Scrum and Kanban
Knowledge of IBM Guardium Database Activity Monitoring Solution
Knowledge of Tripwire File Integrity Monitoring
Knowledge of Splunk Cloud and Enterprise Security
Knowledge of ServiceNow Enterprise Platform
