Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Cloud Architect with experience in AWS application architecture to join our Informatics organization.

 

We are looking for a passionate architect with a talent for building quality software solutions who can bring fresh ideas from areas like data processing, system design, data storage and application security.  You will architect scalable, multi-tenant SaaS solutions for class-leading scientific analytical applications while leveraging your experience in the latest AWS Cloud technologies.

Basic Responsibilities

  • Create and document architectural designs following input from stakeholders
  • Act as architectural design authority
  • Communicate designs to the stakeholders
  • Act as a consultant to teams involved in implementing architectural designs
  • Produce proofs of concept in high-risk areas to de-risk architecture
  • Resolve challenges in complex technical issues
  • Seek out and provide guidance on improving engineering practices and technologies
  • Mentor others on architectural concepts and infrastructure

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in application architecture, database architecture, and security
  • 8+ years of experience leading or developing quality, enterprise software products using a structured system development life cycle.
  • 2+ years AWS Architecture

Other Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience designing and delivering cloud platform solutions, AWS preferred
  • Proficiency in designing Multi-tenant SaaS applications with high-volume transactions
  • Strong understanding of computer science algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and testing methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across internal and external organizations

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification
  • Extensive experience with .NET and .NET Core
  • Familiar with TOGAF 9 or ISO 42010:2011
  • Domain knowledge of chromatography
  • Knowledge and experience with application servers, n-tier applications, database management systems and open-source trends
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases
