BOSTON, MA – The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Boston is pleased to announce a Diamond-level sponsorship with MathWorks.
Headquartered in Natick, MA, MathWorks strives to build an inclusive, equitable, and diverse workplace that is welcoming to all. The company espouses a core belief that to innovate in engineering and science, diverse perspectives are critical for challenging the status quo and arriving at optimal solutions.
“MathWorks is excited to continue working with NSBE Boston Professionals to support year-round STEM programming that includes the Inspire STEM scholarship, Tech Talks, NSBE Junior/Youth STEM initiative, networking events, and more,” said Jeanne O’Keefe, SVP and CFO of MathWorks. “NSBE’s dedication to the success of Black engineering students and professionals aligns perfectly with our diversity, equity, and inclusion workplace objectives. We’re excited to see this partnership grow.”
MathWorks will now provide increased support for NSBE Boston through their Diamond-level sponsorship, including collaboration on 2022-23 STEM initiatives. In this timeframe, the two organizations will work on career development programs aimed at professionals and students, as well as mentoring and community engagement opportunities.
The new partnership will further build upon the company’s history of investment in Black talent, which includes employer sponsorships of collegiate NSBE chapters (including the University of Massachusetts Amherst, University of Massachusetts Lowell, Boston University & Howard University) and the annual Region 1 Fall Regional Conference.
“NSBE Boston is proud to partner with MathWorks in our endeavors to advance Black STEM achievement through scholarship, community engagement, and programming,” said Alexis Smith-Attuquayefio, President of NSBE’s Greater Boston chapter. “Having MathWorks as a Diamond sponsor is an important milestone for the organization. The impact of this deepened relationship will benefit the NSBE Boston community for years to come.”
With more than 30 years of providing channels of opportunity for academic and career advancement to the Black/African American communities in Massachusetts, NSBE Boston has a membership of Black Professionals spanning the New England area. In the coming months, MathWorks is proud to host upcoming panels by their Engineering Development Group (“EDG”), as well as Tech Talks, Webinars, Networking events, Campus Tours, Professional Development Workshops, MATLAB Challenges, and more.
