FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – January 11, 2024

BOSTON, MA –  The National Society of Black Engineers Boston Professionals (NSBE Boston) is excited to announce a Gold-level partnership with Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation. This partnership underscores our shared dedication to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the engineering community.

Schneider Electric’s collaboration with NSBE Boston is guided by four key objectives: talent development, diversity and inclusion, professional growth, and community engagement. This strategic partnership provides Schneider with access to NSBE Boston’s exceptional pool of skilled engineering talent, enabling the cultivation of a strong, diverse talent pipeline.

Additionally, by championing diversity within the engineering field, NSBE Boston and Schneider Electric aim to create opportunities for underrepresented groups and strive for equal representation in the industry. Through NSBE’s rich offering of conferences, workshops, networking events and more, Schneider will facilitate valuable professional development, mentorship and career opportunities for NSBE Boston members.

Lastly, by empowering future generations of engineers through supporting NSBE Boston’s community initiatives and youth programs, Schneider emphasizes the advancement of engineering education overall. This aligns with Schneider’s broader vision to drive innovation and business success through championing diversity and inclusion.

This partnership closely aligns with Schneider Electric’s unwavering commitment to diversity, inclusion, and talent development, offering them the opportunity to collaborate with a respected organization, cultivate a diverse workforce, and make a profoundly positive impact in the engineering community.

Schneider Electric’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion extends throughout the organization, encompassing its collaborations with professional organizations like NSBE Boston. While detailed plans with NSBE Boston Professionals are still in development, Schneider Electric’s broader DEI efforts encompass fostering an inclusive workplace culture where all individuals feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their best. This involves the promotion of diversity at all organizational levels, ensuring equal opportunities, and maintaining an environment of fairness. Schneider Electric also actively champions a variety of ERGs, including those dedicated to diversity and inclusion, such as the Black Employee Resource Group (BERG), which serves as a platform for networking, mentorship, and support for employees from underrepresented backgrounds. Moreover, Schneider Electric is firmly committed to attracting and nurturing diverse talent, including partnering with organizations like NSBE to increase the representation of underrepresented groups in their workforce. They provide comprehensive training and development programs to cultivate an inclusive and equitable work environment.

In the words of Christie Lee, Global HR Leader at Schneider Electric, “While Schneider Electric is committed to fostering diversity and inclusion within our organization, we recognize the importance of partnering with organizations like NSBE Boston to drive positive change in the engineering industry. NSBE Boston’s dedication to supporting black engineering professionals aligns with our values, and through this partnership, we aim to create opportunities, inspire future generations, and build a more diverse and inclusive engineering community.”
